A few things about us…

The Friends of Long Island Wireless History was formed in 1998 in an an effort to save the remains of the Telefunken international wireless station in West Sayville built in 1911.

In 2009, the organization was renamed, the Long Island Radio & TV Historical Society to refect our expanded  interests in the history of early wireless up through radio and television here on Long Island. We have a vast collection of pictures, artifacts, and research to share.

Although many of our members are amateur radio operators, engineers, broadcasters, and hobbyists with a technical background; our interests are primarily in the historical aspects of wireless, radio and TV.

LIRTVHS holds monthly meetings on the third Saturday of the month at the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville. If you would like to learn, share, and make new friends, please join us in person.

Sincerely,

Connie Currie, President
